    PADI IDC faqs

    IDC frequently ask question
What do I have to do in the IDC?

You can expect to be involved in class activities for about 80 hours over the 10-day program. During this time you will attend about 35 hours of staff presentations conducted by course director or IDC staff Instructors. In these lectures you will learn about the PADI educational system and how to teach it. You will also make at least twelve teaching presentations, four in classroom, four in confined water and four in open water.

    Can I fail my IDC?
NO. This is a development course, sure we evaluate you, but we also coach and teach you until you reach the level sufficient to pass the IE. Just like any other PADI dive courses that are performance based, and the IDC is no different. Make as many mistakes as possible, Its development! enjoy it!

Is extra time available for preparation and study for IDC?
Yes-Chong provides a FREE IDC prep Course 2 days prior to the start of each IDC, as well as allowing extra time during the IDC for study workshops and we are also available 24 hours during IDC should you need to polish in any areas you are weak.

What is the most common part person fail the IE?
Dive theory exams. Study these, they are very similar to you divemaster exams, you have already passed this stuff to become a divemaster. Chong will personally go through all the five dive theory with you prior starting of your IDC. No worries!

What happens if I don't pass the IE?
There's no failure in PADI system, (performance based). The word I prefer to use is "non certification". Preparation, preparation, preparation is the key. Remember, Chong prepares you as an Instructor, not for the IE, IE is just repetition of what you've learned in your IDC and no one candidate require to attend second IE from Chong's IDC program. RELAX and HAVE FUN, however if you happen to have a bad day during your IE, your next IE will be paid by us including your accommodation and food!

With Course Director Chong, every candidate in all IE exams had achieved success on their first IE!

Please feel free to email Chong for question and enquires.
